If you had told me years ago that I would be standing in the pulpit of Oak Chapel one day, I don’t think I would have believed it. Even today, there are times when I am so deeply humbled and grateful for this call God has placed in my life, I still find myself shaking my head.
I was baptized in the Methodist Church as an infant (before it was “United”), but my faith experiences growing up were primarily limited to saying grace at dinner and attending Christmas and Easter services. I think in my heart I always believed in God, but for years I didn’t really have a relationship with God. I was one of those kids who tried to read the Bible, but gave up after hitting some of those unpronounceable genealogies in the Old Testament.
