Christmas isn’t that far off, believe it or not.  Many years ago I decided to make that most Holy celebration mean something more than what I had grown up with.  So I adopted charities to give to or volunteer for in honor of the people I would normally give gifts to.  My favorite is the orphanage, now known as a children’s home, in Old Mutare, Zimbabwe.  So far I’ve been there 11 times and it feels like a second home now.

November 22 I’m going back.  I’d like to take enough money with me to make this the best Christmas the children and their caregivers have ever had.  In order to make this possible, every Sunday, starting the first Sunday in October, from 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM, there will be a display table outside Boyer Hall with some crafts, cards, posters, brochures, and a book with pictures of all the children.  You can buy what’s on the table, sign up to sponsor a child or project, or make a donation.

The name of the organization is the Fairfield Outreach and Sponsorship Association.  Our website is www.fosakids.org.  I encourage you to look at the site before hand so you will know where your contributions are going. Many of you have been faithful in supporting this effort in the past and for that I am most grateful.  Thank you in advance to those of you who will support the children this time.
